After grinding a rogue & warrior up the nice elderly fashioned way, I decided to try a few Rift leveling guides. I averaged 8 days played with my first characters. It took me 8 days six hours to get my warrior to 50, & 7 days 21 hours to max out my rogue. Of work a patch later I needed a mage & cleric on my payroll. This put me on the hunt for respectable Rift leveling guides. Several frustrating days later I noticed there was nothing even close to being comparable to a quantity of the WoW guides out there. Trion's approach to add ons has made it impossible to find any Rift leveling guides with an in game interface. Add ons do not take away any skill involved with a challenge any more then the loose macro method in Rift does. It would be nice in the event that they would change there philosophy on add on support. The Rift leveling guides available at this point in time will need plenty of tabbing out & taking a look at maps. After days of research I decided to give separate guides a try. I used of the Rift leveling guides with my cleric. I then used another different but similar guide with my mage. Both of the Rift leveling guides I used necessary flipping through pages & looking up videos. This was very frustrating. After a small bit of use I became more accustomed to the dearth of an interface & began to fly through quest hubs like crazy. Even without the custom in game interface, the Rift leveling guides that had been put together were very thorough. It seems to have been a bit simpler thinking about the single quest path for each faction. With the monorail type questing pace that Rift puts you on I still could complete more objectives faster. I also found a ton of quests at hub areas that I had historicallyin the past missed without the Rift leveling guides.
Rift has been quickly becoming a new addiction for me right along side of WoW. Although the choices of playstyle available with each class makes the soul trees very fascinating, I still find that I am desirous to play different classes. Going from assassin to marks on my rogue doesn't give me the satisfaction that I am looking for in a ranged class. I need to bust out a mage & blow stuff up!
It took me six days one hour to get my cleric from level one to level 50 with the help of the guides. This might have been a bit faster on another class. The cleric seems to naturally kill things slower. This is the cost you pay for being invincible I guess! The actual surprise came to me when I leveled my mage from level one to level 50 in six days six hours. With the help of a mean fireball, & Rift leveling guides I had this mage grinding level 50 every day quests within a week of originally beginning the character off.
To sum it all up, I could over cut in half the time necessary to level from one to 50 with the current Rift leveling guides. I was very surprised by these results thinking about the dearth of an in game guide. Even while the game of Rift is very young, the current expertise in Rift leveling guides still saves a ton of time. A quantity of the guides claim to let you power level all the way up in less than six days. No matter what your play style entails, you can get to 50 after with a small help. I personally enjoyed being able to get to level 50 content & warfronts at my new pace.
